Is it possible to "close" a room resource?
Say a meeting room is being closed for renovations for example. Is it possible for me to "close" a room and have the Booking Attendant reject any meeting request until I open it again?

Why not simply create a meeting that last as long as the renovations? I could, but then someone will have their calendar filled with the renovation meeting. Is there a way to set the room as the meeting organizer so only its calendar gets the meeting?

Set the RequestInPolicy and RequestOutOfPolicy restrictions on the room to allow no one or reject all ( or allow only you for example) See: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/managing-resource-mailboxes-exchange-server-2007-part2-.html

Enable the AD account and then logon into OWA with this account. Switch to Options|Resource. here you can specify only a user or a user group can book this resource (you may leave the user name blank in this option), and then leave a message indicating why it is not available for example the renovations. Using this way, you user will receive a reject email message when they try to book this roo. Hope it is helpful.Fiona
